| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]She is the largest man-made object ever afloat, she is longer than the tallest buildings are tall at 882 feet long and 175 feet tall, about as high as an eleven story building. Built in Belfast, Ireland, she is the pride of the White Star Line. But in two hours and forty minutes, she slid under the waves as people struggled to survive in the cold waters of the Atlantic ocean. Let's rewind the clock nearly 106 years ago, to April 14th, 1912, the day of the disaster. It was four days into Titanic's maiden voyage and everything was going smoothly. The Wireless Operators had received multiple ice warnings, however ice was coming this time of season. It was 11:39 at night, Lookouts Frederick Fleet spotted a dark haze on the horizon, he ringed to bell three times to signal danger right ahead and phoned the bridge. The crew did all they could to avoid it, but sadly she hit the iceberg on her starboard side. Titanic had sixteen watertight compartments, she could stay afloat with any two flooded, she could even stay afloat with the first four flooded. But the iceberg had buckled open five compartments, one too many for the ship to handle. From this moment, so matter what they did, Titanic would founder. - The Rules:
- No characters from the films or historical figures from the event itself, please keep this original and respectful as unfun as that may seem. They can, however, be based on or inspired by movie characters or historical figures.
- You can be anything, like all three classes, and a few crew roles like steward or coal worker, but officers and the captain are off limits, in other words, try not to be an important figure to the story but rather another perspective to it if that makes any sense.
