Night Immortal Empty
PostSubject: Night Immortal   Night Immortal EmptySun Feb 03, 2013 2:16 am

In the beginning, in the time before the world, and perhaps before time itself, there was a dragon. This dragon, who was to become the world, had a name, given by the essence of the universe itself: Tiamat, She of Seven Heads and Souls. In an endless cycle, she flew around the sun, six of her seven heads eternally at war. The seventh, the center, was above all things balanced. It refused to tip the balance, seeing that no matter how powerful he was, neither could survive when its opposite was killed. However, with time, as all things must, Tiamat’s reign over the universe came to an end and she died.

With time, her flesh decayed and compressed into the earth we know today. Her bones became the stones, her scales the great mountains and valleys. Her flaming heart heated the core of the earth. Her blood now ran in the seas and rivers, and the breath from her lungs enveloped the earth.
Born from the seven souls of her heads were the seven eldest, the few eternal masters of the elements. Firstborn of all was Stasis, The Stone King Eternal. He was born of the soul of the central head, and took upon himself the burden of keeping the balance. The second wave brought two dragon gods, the unfathomable fishlike monstrosity Icthys, King of The Sea Serpents, blue as the deepest sea and his brother, the mighty copper dragon Malachus, guardian of the earth itself. Afterwards was born the decaying monstrosity Lepros, Lord of Pestilence. In contrast, his soul “twin” was a platinum dragon, Goddess of The Moon, born to represent purity, so far that she bears no name but Luna.

The final set of twins is the most “fated” of them all. The Metallic of them is known as Aurum. He is a massive Golden dragon, whose scales shine with such torchlight that he is prophesied to spur the armies of light on with merely his appearance, and his title is “Daybreaker.” The Chromatic of them is a glittering Black dragon by the name of Nocturne, Bringer of Night. Nocturne’s individual scales glitter like black crystals, giving her the appearance of a starry night.

Of course, the dragons fought in great battles. The Chromatic and Metallic were always in struggle in some way or another, be it telepathic or actually physical. Despite the raging madness of their battles, lesser races managed to rise out of their animalistic origins.

First among these races were those who are second only to dragons, the Elves. Their longevity (and life cycle) spans centuries, and some say that they are born from the very giant trees amongst which they make their homes. They work in the highest planes of magic and mastery. They are a very closed-minded and xenophobic folk. Using their great magic, they made their mad jungles greater than nature, the tops of the greatest trees reaching above the clouds, the thickets deep and impenetrable except to those who knew the magic.

Next born into this world were the Orcs, the warriors of the plains. They live almost exclusively in wagons and roadside encampments. They are a people of strong faith, and when they believe a cause is right they will swear to it and fight until they die. There is no knowledge of the maximum age of an Orc, because when they are no longer of use in battle they disappear into the wilderness in a form of ritual suicide. Orcs and humans have allied many times, and hold a strong friendship.

Youngest of the natural races are the humans, whose adaptability and sheer stubbornness allowed them to live anywhere they set their mind to it. Occasionally, they will have a problem with a lesser (non-god) dragon, and they will band together, despite their differences, to survive. Even with the orcs, who were at first their enemies, they were willing to settle differences in the name of survival. Humans outright refused to quit, and that is the source of their success.

Of course, there was a cataclysm. Some mad dragon cult, calling themselves Kobolds, quested to imbalance the world. Using ancient and hitherto unknown magics to change their forms to be like that of dragons, they became a horrifying subterranean race. They worshipped the chaotic Chromatic dragons, who reproduced and grew faster, and seek to spread their unholy reign. Few thought the Kobolds were a major threat until they managed to somehow summon Nocturne, plunging the world into an ever-cloudy state.

Now, the only sources of food are scarce animals and fungi, or the greatly expensive vegetables elves grow in their treetop gardens. The Chromatic Dragons and their God-Leaders wreak havoc upon the land, and the metallic and non-kobold forces are not enough to stop them. There is only one option: To raise Aurum and Stasis, and restore balance to the world.
This is where our story begins.

The Dragon Gods
Basics
These are the seven "Eldest" mentioned before. These guys are freaking massive. As in, maws the size of houses massive. The Chromatic dragons all thirst for power and to be the greatest, whereas the metallic seek to eliminate the chromatic. They are locked in an eternal struggle, which was only recently tipped.
Stasis
The firstborn and mightiest. Given his place at the center of the pantheon, he is always neutral until a conflict becomes unbalanced. His body itself appears to be made of granite. As opposed to breathing a specific element, he manipulates the winds of time and magic themselves to achieve whatever goal he hopes to achieve.
Icthys
A horrible serpent monstrosity. His body stretches nearly a thousand yards. His eyes are massive black orbs, as he spends most of his time in the deepest abyss. However physically threatening he may be, his magical power is all the more threatening. From his rift deep in the sea he has the power to drive anyone to madness with merely a whisper. He can spray a column of water strong enough to destroy a ship from his mouth.
Malachus
This great dragon resides deep within a forgotten vale. His skin ranges from a shining coppery brown to a malachite green, ranging with his forest's health. His eyes are golden-brown in color, and his claws are made of copper. He takes the form of an almost lionlike dragon, lacking wings. He can send a charring blast of fire from his mouth.
Lepros, The Pestilent
A pink chromatic dragon. He exudes an air of rot, and from the numerous sores on his body ooze an infectious pus. He has no breath weapon.
Luna
She is a dragon who seems to be made of liquid platinum or quicksilver. She is the "Purest" of the metallic dragons, and seems almost anonymous. With her breath she can send a horrific blast of cold capable of freezing flesh solid.
Nocturne
She is a black chromatic dragon, perhaps the finest of her breed. Her scales each glitter individually, making her look like the night itself. With her horrible breath weapon she can rend the very soul from a mortal's body, or weaken a god. She is known as bringer of night.
Aurum
The great golden metallic dragon. His scales reflect any and all light in such a manner as to look like a flame, or a torch. Just his appearance can spur armies on to victory against even the bleakest odds. He is opposed to any and all undead. He carries the title Daybreaker, and his breath weapon is a fire that somehow seems holy and cleansing, even though it causes such great destruction to the enemy.

Physical Description:
Fighting Style:
Mental Description/Personality:

Rules
I am the GM, and what I say happens, happens.
Be realistic. Your first action upon meeting a god probably wouldn't be "I hIT HIM WITH MY AXE"
For major bosses, no autohitting/godmodding.
PPlayers, you're all on the same side.
