(Just testing the waters) Dungeon Keepers (Planning)

So... there's this old Sporum RP called Dungeon Keepers. I've been thinking about making a new one. Should I?

Be careful of plagiarism. Not many writing communities take kindly to it.

I'm not exactly sure if I do, but the original poster of the roleplay is long gone, so I can't really ask him.

Ideas survive through being reproduced. I doubt the Dungeon Keeper RPers had permission from the previous set of RPers (Runescape forums or something), nor the game devs, let alone the IP holders (but now I'm digressing).

I assume that the proposal is to borrow the framework and concepts, but to instantiate new characters / locations / whatnot within it. (And to eventually rewrite the OP.) So long as the borrowed content isn't claimed as original, I don't see how that's plagarism. Unless it's not my opinion that matters.

That said, ideally one would get in touch with the Sporum RPers. They did hang around for quite awhile. Just... not this long.

Oh, I didn't mean to say what this person will do is going to be plagiarism on all accounts - but to be careful of plaigerism. A carbon copy of Dungeon Keepers isn't the right way to go, but rewriting Dungeon Keepers entirely (though still maintaining the idea behind it) would be acceptable. 'Cause otherwise, every superhero movie ever is liable for copyright violation.

Remake the RP into something similar, but very different. It's what I did when I created Dawn of Myths, had Legends of Thirth and Land of Myths gone underway.

I think I'd be up for a human-light fantasy RP.

This lack of interest is unfortunate.

It's probably because everyone is busy and lacks time for another rp.
