The Norue Region.

Home to towering peaks and fjords that seem to magically ice over in the winter, to coat themselves with a fine frozen dust.

Full of good people.

Including those renowned Gym Leaders.

I can't think of anything that can go wrong in Norue.

Well, there was one thing...

Welcome to Pokémon: Blizzard Version!

In this roleplay, you will play as a Pokémon Trainer starting on a new adventure. There will be highs and lows to your journey. But your ultimate goal is to obtain all eight Gym Badges and participate in the Pokémon League.

But there might be trouble ahead; for example, there's Team Fractal, a syndicate that has a very unhealthy obsession with frost, ice, and snow. Also, they dress kind of like Vikings.

RULES
-Roleplay basics (I'm sure that you know these)
-Don't badmouth other players. It's impolite.
-Notify me or a mod if you want to challenge a Gym Leader.
-If you want to battle another player, notify your opponent as well as a mod.
-Please try to have quality writing; this means at least a paragraph of three lines or more.
-Don't go overboard with descriptions of gore.
-Two characters per player.
-If you read these rules, write "POTION" in the Other section of your character sheet.
-You can catch any Pokémon (barring Legendaries) provided that you give a description of the battle and capture.
-Have fun!

STARTER POKÉMON GUIDELINES
-A starter Pokémon must be first in its evolution line.
-A starter Pokémon can not be a Legendary Pokémon.
-Your Pokémon does NOT have to be one of the official starters in any of the games. For example, it's just as alright to use Snubbull as it is to use Fennekin.
-Your Pokémon also does not have to be Grass, Fire, or Water type. (Again, for example, using Snubbull is perfectly fine.)

EropsToad
Name: Laura DiCastelia
Age: 16
Appearance: Laura has a slender face and moony, gray-irised eyes. She never really found much purpose in cosmetics. Her hair is parted to her right, and falls down to her shoulder. However, a lot of the top is covered in a gray driver's cap. Laura is pretty tall, standing at 5'11"; however, she is pretty lean, but not so mean. In fact, quite the opposite; Laura is kind and outgoing. Laura usually dons a pale sky-blue tank top and denim shorts, with green tennis shoes. She carries a can of pepper spray in the side pocket of her black one-strap backpack.
Biography: During the Unova crisis, the DiCastelias were some of the first families to be swayed by Team Plasma's speeches. Once Team Plasma was defeated, the DiCastelias had nowhere to go. They could not adjust quickly enough to life without Pokémon, and fearing eviction, Mrs. DiCastelia bought plane tickets for herself and Laura and hightailed it to Mistralton City, from which they flew to the Norue region.

Laura's father fell to cancer when Laura was ten. Since then, Laura has learned to cherish interpersonal relationships, because one cannot know how long they will last. She was obviously reluctant to release her Pokémon, but more so than most of the people in her community. As a result of losing those close to her, Laura tries to cling on to her friends as much as possible. Laura's mother works, and is too busy to take care of her, so when she heard that other kids were starting fresh Pokémon journeys, she encouraged Laura to go on her own travels and learn to live independently.

Laura is obviously happy for the chance to bond with new Pokémon.

Name: Knox Thomas
Age: 16
Appearance: Knox is a strong-jawed Black boy with a lot packed on the upper body from helping his dad at the family auto repair shop. He stands at 5'9". His hair is cut short. Knox has squinty, black-irised eyes and a stoic, stern expression, yet chooses to remain clean-shaven. His choice of apparel rests in plaid of various colors, as well as grease-stained blue overalls and a handy multi-pocketed tool belt (no infinite backpack for this guy!). You'd think he'd be a tough guy, and you'd be right, except for one thing: he absolutely CAN NOT TALK TO ANY PERSON OF THE OTHER SEX.
Biography: Knox Thomas has lived in Amber Town his whole life. The Thomases are comfortably well-off, as the car-repair business is good and they so far haven't run into any corporate takeovers. Knox's journey really began when Mr. Thomas said to him: "Son, I think you need to go out and see the world. As much as I know that you love the shop and your family, there has to be more to your life than grommets and gears."

Knox had spent most of his (out of school) life at the shop, and was very sorry to be leaving, but he agreed with his father. Before he left home, however, his father gave Knox his favorite toolbelt. "It's served me for many years, my boy," his father explained, strapping the tool belt around Knox's waist, "and now it's your turn to wear and use it with pride."

Knox's preferred type is Steel, although he can work with any type as long as every Pokémon can work together flawlessly.

The Ⓧperator
Name: Damian Troi
Age: 16
Appearance: I'm bad at these, so just click This link.
Other information: He stands at about 5'9-5'10 depending on who you ask. He also weighs in at about 172 pounds, so he hasnt been missing any meals in the best way possible.

Biography:
I'll be going into his personality here as well, just so everyone gets an idea of who he is.

Damian here is an overconfident, cocky, know it all ass of a human being, much like Gary (mother****ing) Oak and his gaming counterpart Blue. The only thing about him is that because of the way he carries himself he is often able to get away with his antics due to others being too intimidated by his charisma to tell him otherwise. He himself also backs up to his personality by being an excellent strategist. His choice of starter was started based on it's adamant nature and the moves it was bred with, as a big breeder was in town breeding them (is that okay?). He wanted a pokemon who would provide a challenge in overcoming the first few gym leaders, but also had access to secret weapons. Tyrunt was just that pokemon for him. The Royal Heir pokemon suited him nicely anyways. Damian is constantly challenging himself to make sure his walls are still strong. He is a very self conscious person at heart and as a very intelligent person recognizes this and masks it almost perfectly. He wants to become the mask he put on-confident, intelligent, powerful. But he, no matter how smart of cunning is still human and has let the mask corrupt, making him cocky and a know-it-all.

Damian grew up being the slightly younger brother to a fraternal twin sister. He and his father never knew one another, his father having left his family early on in his young life. He was forced to take on the responsibility of being the man of the house, which he wasnt very good at. He and his sister constantly battled for authoritative status. Despite this he and his sister remained very close. Their mother having to work constantly left them alone with only one another to depend on. So, they set out together as traveling partners when the time came, treating one another as rivals and friends, who helped train one another.

Other: His Tyrunt will use every potion he has if he's not careful. He and his sister also share pokemon every now and again. So his team may alternate from time to time.

CHARACTER SHEET

Trainers

Name: Donna Troi
Age: 17
Appearance: Bad at this. Just click me!
She's a taller girl, about 5'8. She weighs about 130-135, somewhere in between.

Biography:
I'll go into personality here too.

Donna is a very cold and very calculating individual. She lives for statistics and much like her brother, is excellent at battle strategy. Despite this she has a soft spot for her family and pokemon, whom are the only people who get to see the quite geeky girl she actually is. She surprisingly is very self confident and seems to lack the insecurity her brother and other teenage girls have. She's very comfortable in her own skin, and will not hesitate to use that comfort to make you uncomfortable. She will pick up on body language like sweating of shifting around. She will find cracks in your walls and use them to gain the upper hand in any situation she can.

Donna much like her brother grew up without a father. With her mother working most of the time her brother and herself were pretty much the only people there for each other. So, being each others best friends, they set off together to make it to the top together.

Other: Potions are good. She and her brother sometimes switch up their teams with one another, and borrow each other's pokemon. So her team man change from time to time.

Name: Shaun Masters
Age: 14
Gender: Male (figured this would be useful)

Appearance: Shaun is a short, skinny boy, around 5’7” and weighing around 115 lbs. He is weak and flabby, with no evidence of any sort of exercise in the past. His skin is quite pale, as if he spent most of his time outside or in the dark. His head is shaped like an egg on its top, with a thin chin tapering up to a large cranium. This continues from a tall, thin neck that is often the subject of ridicule. His hair is a light brown, bordering on blonde but not quite there yet, and is combed over neatly to his right. His hair is meticulously groomed so that it always looks near-perfect. He has small round ears that hug against his hair as if afraid of sticking out and being noticed, and a rounded nose. His nose has a crooked bridge, as if it has been broken several times. He wears a pair of rimless rectangular glasses, and is nearly-blind without them. Shaun’s mouth is wide and typically locked into a sort of half-frown, as if he’s unsatisfied with everything he sees. Shaun always dresses very formally, never wearing tee shirts or shorts. His general attire is trousers, a button-up dress shirt (he rolls the sleeves up when it’s warm out), a black vest, and a black newsboy cap. Over these things, he wears a black wool trench coat that makes him look both somewhat shady and older than he actually is.

Biography: Shaun was born in a small town slightly to the west of Lillycove City in the Hoenn Region. His mother was single, his father having died of some obscure disease before Shaun was born. Shaun was...weird. He’s dyslexic, first of all, so many people at school thought that he was dumb, and he spent most of his time playing alone at Mt.Pyre, a Pokemon graveyard near his house. Because of this, Shaun was bullied for most of his childhood, and had very few friends. When Shaun turned eleven, he met a Duskull floating around Mt.Pyre. It looked alone and lost, and seemed to have burns on it. Moved with pity, Shaun picked up the wild Duskull and took it home, where he nursed it back to health. He became friends with the Duskull, and when his mother told him that he had to release it (he was underage and it was a wild pokemon), he was heartbroken. Luckily for him, the Duskull liked him just as much as he liked it. One morning, he woke up to find the Duskull sitting on his stomach, waiting for him to wake up. When Shaun was a week from turning 14, his mother announced that they were moving to the Norue region, where she got a job as a Pokemon nurse. He couldn’t take a wild Pokemon with him to a new region, though, so Shaun became distraught that he would soon lose his best friend. His fears melted away, however, when he opened his fourteenth birthday present; a luxury ball. Duskull happily entered the pokeball, and the two have been together ever since.

Name: Grant Rozanski
Age: 16
Gender: male

Appearance: Grant is a boy of average height and weight, being 5’9” and weighing something like 145 lbs. One wouldn’t describe him as “muscled”, but he is fit, evidence of his rather active lifestyle. He is of mixed race, having a caucasian father and a black mother. Because of this, his skin is very tanned, and looks as if he sat in the sun for far too long. He has large hands with callused palms and nails that probably could use a manicure. His hair is a dark brown, and is combed back against his head in that professional style that people who mean business always use. His face normally has some stubble running across his jawline and chin, making him look slightly rough. His eyes are a light hazel color and are almond-shaped. He has bushy eyebrows set in such a way that they make his eyes seem to stick out on his face. His nose is small with nostrils that flare when he’s angry. He has a bit of an acne problem, with a few small blemishes hidden in his stubble and a few clinging to the sides of his nose. Grant always seems to be confident and relaxed, rarely exhibiting any sign of stress. Grant dresses rather ruggedly, normally wearing a pair of dark-colored jeans, a tee shirt, a pair of running shoes, and a faded leather jacket. His trademark piece of clothing is a brown Indiana Jones-style fedora that he always wears on his head. He almost never removes it. In addition to this getup, Grant wears a brown leather satchel which contains his supplies (his bag, basically).

Bio: Since Grant was a little boy, he loved Indiana Jones. He was inspired by his sense of adventure and daring nature, and has strived to be as cool for most of his life. He grew up in Oreburgh City, the son of an archaeologist (just like the aforementioned Dr.Jones) who worked with a paleontology team at the museum to resurrect fossils. Grant’s childhood home was a one-level ranch house on the east edge of Oreburgh, near the mines. The house had a white picket fence around it, and behind the fence romped a variety of dinosaur pokemon. Where some had a household Furfrou or Lillipup, Grant’s family had a pet Cranidos and a Kabuto that crawled around the pond. As Grant grew up, his father’s collected expanded to hold a Shieldon and a Tyrunt. Grant loved these Pokemon, and always wanted to go on adventures with them. When he was nine, Grant took his father’s Cranidos out for an “adventure” in the Oreburgh coal mines. While down there, a mine explosion went off. Had it not been for Cranidos using headbutt to break an enormous rock and for the floor caving in, Grant would have been crushed. Instead, he fell into an ancient cavern. His father soon came to the rescue, and Grant was reprimanded, but not as much as he would have been otherwise had he not fallen into the ruins of an ancient temple of some sort. Grant returned home triumphantly, seeing himself as an official adventurer. His adventure, however, soon took a turn for the worst. His father worked at the temple every day, studying artifacts and unearthing ancient treasures. Grant loved this, but his mother, not so much. The two began fighting, and when Grant turned 14, his parents got a divorce. It was a nasty settlement, fraught with fighting, but in the end Grant’s mother got the kids. Grant was fifteen by this time, and he was absolutely heartbroken that he had to leave his father and Oreburgh. He moved with his mother to Ironwood Town in the Norue region, and has lived there ever since.
Before leaving, Grant was given a package by his father. He was told not to open it until he got to the new home. In the package were three things, a pokeball, a Baltoy, and an ancient-looking stone plate. The Baltoy jumped out and hugged Grant as soon as he opened the box. Upon reading a letter given to the Baltoy, Grant discovered that it was found in the ruins of the temple he had fallen into all those years ago. The plate was more of a mystery. It was a pinkish color, and was covered in dust and dirt. These words were written on the plate: "When the universe was created, its shards became this Plate. The power of defeated giants infuses this Plate. Two beings of time and space set free from the Original One. Three beings were born to bind time and space. Two make matter and three make spirit, shaping the world. The Original One breathed alone before the universe came. The powers of Plates are shared among Pokémon. The rightful bearer of a Plate draws from the Plate it holds.” The letter with the Baltoy told Grant that this plate was very powerful, and that it was his father’s greatest discovery. He had to take very good care of it. Every night, before he goes to bed, Grant hides that tablet in his satchel and sleeps with it at his side. No one is allowed to touch it except his Baltoy.

Other: POTIONS. I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert . . . Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed: And on the pedestal these words appear: ‘My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!' Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Dragonbud
Name: Caroline Alder
Age: 12
Appearance: I got lazy
Biography: Caroline's family has been working for Pokemon professors as aids for generators across all regions. So from a young age Caroline was part of the researching process. She often found herself observing the professor and the aids as they worked, so she developed a huge sense of curiosity as well as a desire to learn. So once she came of age, Caroline began a Pokemon journey of a different sort. She never cared for battling Pokemon, although she sees the importance of how it strengthens bonds between trainer and Pokemon, instead Caroline strives to learn about all sorts of Pokemon, draw them, study their habitats and personalities and diets, anything. Training to be a professors assistant, or with any luck, an actual professor.

Caroline has also developed a love for ancient Pokemon, legendary Pokemon, as well as smart physic Pokemon like Natu. Her mother owns a Relicanth, which swims lazily around a tank in their home. And has also studied runes and the UNKNOWN language. Before she left on her journey she was given an egg, which hatched into her starter Pokemon.

ViperaUnion
Name: Paige Ryder
Age: 17

Appearance: Paige is largely a small, delicate person physically speaking, possessing a beautiful, slender hourglass figure, but having very little muscle to speak of. Standing at 5’2”, she is either short or tall depending on the standards of the people she is compared to, and generally, most mistakenly believe her at first to be either the age of fifteen or sixteen, often thinking she is one year younger than her actual age, because of her somewhat youthful appearance. As her height and figure indicate, she also weighs very little, only 102lbs, which is either an advantage or disadvantage depending on the situation. Physically, she has very long limbs, and her legs are muscled enough to indicate that she walks for long distances, hinting at the fact that she wants to travel. This set aside, she appears to be double-jointed at the hip and shoulder, but otherwise does not have any flexibility, and her only truly useful physical ability is sprinting.

Paige possesses an oval-shaped face with generally soft features, even though she has high cheekbones that add a sense of refinement. Her eyes are roundish-almonds in shape, and are a very dark shade of brown, with long, thick dark eyelashes. Her thick straight dark brown hair is a short asymmetrical bob that is longer on the left side, stacked on the back, and falls only to her chin, the bob lacking bangs and instead being parted down the center, although the hair unusually seems to become wavy at the very tips, as a result of her habit of messing with it when nervous. Her lower lip often seems chapped, and at times, scabbed over, as a result of her bad habit of biting on it when anxious, to the point of sometimes drawing blood; she often wears a small amount of lip gloss to cover this, although drinking glasses or food can rub it off. Paige’s eyebrows are neither too thick nor too thin, but the individual hairs are often extremely long, having the tendency to droop down, and cause her brows to lose their shape in an un-feminine manner; Paige may sometimes, for the sake of appearances, trim her eyebrows or brush them up into a better shape, but for the most part, neglects these aspects of her features. Paige has notably pale skin comparable to porcelain, because of her careful avoidance of too much sun exposure.

Paige for the most part has very simple attire, more attention paid to the asset of comfort than style, although the colors of her clothing were chosen to look good with her appearance, showing some attention to how she looks. Seeming to be almost immune to extreme heat, and often acting as though she were freezing in otherwise-comfortable temperatures, what she wears is often generally warmer clothing than what someone would see as comfortable. She wears a plain black short-sleeve t-shirt with dark boot-cut jeans as base attire, with black shoes possessing red rubber soles. Over her t-shirt she wears a bright red collared fleece jacket made of an extremely soft variant of the material, often zipped up to the very top of the collar. Over her fleece jacket, Paige wears yet another jacket, this one being a black one with a hood that is waterproof, and likely meant for skiing; she often has this second jacket zipped down to just below the collarbone, allowing the red collar of the fleece jacket to be seen on warmer days, most people are left to wonder how she stands the heat, although she may also sometimes remove this jacket and tie it around her waist by the sleeves. Paige also wears glasses with a rounded-rectangle shape, and although the frames are rather thin, they are completely black, imparting a somewhat nerdy aspect to appearance, although this was done on purpose, and is important, as Paige is extremely near-sighted and can only see clearly for about one foot.

Paige carries in the pockets of her outer jacket warm black gloves that have pads on the fingers, allowing easier interaction with technology and a finer sense of touch overall; she only wears these on very cold days, where her fingers often lose their ability to move because the cold would make them go stiff. Underneath her shirt she wears a sterling-silver chain with a matching silver locket with an opal set in the center, containing a picture of her parents. She also carries a black satchel of sorts draped across her chest to rest on her right hip; this satchel contains a wide array of scholarly items, including a large array of pens and pencils, a calculator, a pencil sharpener, a tiny notebook, and what seems to be a protractor or ruler of sorts.

Biography: Paige’s main focuses in life are largely more geared towards mental aspects, than physical ones, and as a result, versus focusing much on physical training, she was an avid reader as a child. Because she was extremely awkward on a social level, she was often a bit of a loner, as well, and was typically made fun of because of her tendency to ramble off facts, and behave in a gullible manner, generally believing anything a person told her. Paige’s greatest defense to the apparent bullying in her life, as well as the fact that few teachers in her early life believed in her learning capacity, was that Paige was incredibly oblivious as a person. Because of this, as she got older, her life and ability to fit into social circles greatly improved, as she learned to understand more basic concepts like sarcasm and humor. Regardless, Paige isn’t the sort of person to have a large number of friends, and still feels extremely uncomfortable around large numbers of people, instead preferring a small tightly-knit group.

After developing a very strong interest in science, and learning about the wide variety of abilities Pokémon possessed, Paige set for herself the goal of becoming a Material Science Engineer, believing that by studying nature, useful things that could benefit humanity could be invented. However, in order to study nature, namely creatures as powerful as Pokémon, Paige couldn’t set out on a journey all by herself, because it would be extremely dangerous. As a result, she decided that she would build for herself a team of reliable Pokémon companions to help her as she traveled around the region, examining wild creatures in the field. Because she wanted her first Pokémon to be one that could think on her level, and work well with her personality, she chose a Beldum to be her partner. Paige has also repeatedly said to herself that she will actively attempt to avoid getting into conflicts, and does not feel guilty about the concept declining challenges from other trainers, preferring instead to work out a training routine that runs a lower risk of injury.

Regarding her home life, Paige was raised by a very loving mother and father who were incredibly supportive of her goal, and as a result, she may often unconsciously touch her hand to her heart, where she is wearing the locket with their picture, when she thinks about them. Paige’s parents are supportive of her journey, but are also largely worried about how their daughter will do on her own.

Lieo
Name: Sean O'Neil
Age: 12
Appearance: We're dealing with a thin, small little boy. He doesn't have much in the ways of musculature, toning, or even a strong frame, and which leaves him with a lack of the typical boyish appearance, although not to the degree of androgyny – the structure and features of his face still conveys what little masculinity he may have.  He stands at 4'5”, presenting himself as a rather short boy even amongst the peers of his own age group, which, in conjunction with height that makes up his slightly demeanor comes his weight (at no more than 79 lbs.), strongly explains why he may appear the way he does. As mentioned, he has a thin frame – he has little muscle that can be put to good use, so he  isn't very strong. Most of the meat on his bones is still the soft flesh that is so often associated with prepubescence, as is his smooth, soft skin – not yet fallen victim to plague of acne that comes with adolescence.

His frame and nigh untouched complexion, however, isn't the only contributor to his apparent dainty figure. His soft features doesn't do much to help him persuade others of his masculinity. A soft little button nose, thin eyebrows and high cheekbones and slender nose bridge makes him look more as if he were ten years old than nearly thirteen, and placed upon a circular face, it practically frames these features. But he looks nearly out of the world as he does young and emasculate. Albinism, an inherited trait from his father, leaves his skin  paler than the moon, and bright blue-gray eyes that shine like stars, and thick hair white as snow. While he was fortunate enough, like his father, that he did not suffer any of the physical detriments or deformities that sometimes comes with albinism, Sean still very much considers this trait a burden due to the tedious amount of gawking looks he receives from other people (made even worse by how blushing sticks out like a sore thumb on his face).

Sean's attire seems to match well with the cold environment of the Norue region, and while it doesn't contrast with Sean's albinism, it matches well enough that it is still a highlighted feature – unfortunate, due to bright blues being his favorite color. Firstly, a long sleeved off-white shirt hugs his torso, a crew neck, but embroidered in such a way below the neck that it initially appears to be a v-neck. Periodically, when it is warm, he would push  his sleeves up to his elbows. However, this isn't often seen due to the thick sky blue hoodie he wears over it. A zipper down the middle, and lined with white wool at the bottom, in the hood and the inside of the jacket itself, ensuring a warm track through Norue. Upon his legs is a simple pair of denim jeans – a good reliable material – and isn't held up by any belts or whatnot, but still hugs firmly around his waist, so it can be safely suspected that there is elastic within the waist of the pants that allows him to adjust his size. He dons a simple pair of old white hiking shoes, that has faded and picked up enough dirt to look more gray than white.

The boy isn't very concerned about things such as jewelry or impractical accessories. Carried with him is a single strap backpack that would contain most of his supplies and what not, including but not limited to an extra set of clothes, thermal underwear, water, preserved foods and so on. There is a small bundle of polyester rope and clothing pins (though that was most likely his father's idea).

Biography: He was always small and looked as though he were sickly. With the natural paleness that comes with albinism, and the shy and insecure disposition that being tormented by his peers brings to the table, the latter in turn brought him to remain indoors where it was always calm and safe, thus severely cutting short his physical activity.  He was interested in books though, as simple as they may be, and coloring, as crude as his drawings were. Most of these pursuits were not out of some hunger for intelligence or pursuit of an artist career, but for the desire for fun and entertainment, as he could not achieve that with other children his age outside. He interacted with his father a lot, so he isn't utterly inept at communicating with others. His father was nice and clever, so Sean  was never really bored talking to him. He was also a great orator, or speaker, and knew how to interact with others very well. So a few pointers from him goes a long way for Sean. Unfortunately, he barely knew his mother, who moved away when he was three.

When he was younger, at age eight, he developed a fear of Pokemon when nearly mauled by a Beartic and when some of the locals came to help out by sicking their own large and intimidating Pokemon to either frighten it away or distract it. Despite being safe, it was still a very traumatic experience for someone as young as Sean to face a little over four years ago. And since the world is undeniably surrounded by Pokemon and how they play a part in almost every single day of our lives, his father was rightfully concerned and see what he could to help out with Sean's phobia. Most of his attempts to expose him to Pokemon either had him cry or nearly break down from anxiety attacks. Fortunately, there was at least some semblance of improvement over the course of the next two year.

That was when Sean's father decided to take the rehabilitation to the next step: he got a pet for the family. It was a Slakoth, slow and lazy and docile and doesn't do much to harm or scare anyone (unless you consider slowly eating food and enjoying back scratches terrifying, in which case, good luck). This of course made Sean initially nervous, and prompting him to avoid the sloth Pokemon comparable to a throw-down rug. But over the course of the next two years – up to today – he has gotten to enjoy being around it and sometimes even sitting down watching television with it, and being around Pokemon in general made him nothing more than nervous. Finally, Sean's father decided it was long overdue for his first and coached him through the steps of obtaining his first. After finding a Solosis, his dad taught him how to use a Pokeball effectively, and after a brief, awkward struggle, Sean caught it. Stressful, of course, but he now at least had the pride of catching his first Pokemon.

Now taking his first few steps, his dad urged him to pursue a journey –  and even giving him the Slakoth to take with him. He also urged him to travel with friends of course, because he was still young. And he has a Pokenav, so he should know where the cities are and the opportunity to call papa should the situation ever call for it. Unfortunately, he doesn't have very many friends, so it was suggested to him to travel to the next city and find some people to meet there before he goes further.  He cares deeply for Solosis, being his very first, as well as his Slakoth, due to all the time he has spent with it. Slakoth wasn't much of a fighter though, and prefers to piggy-back on Sean like a lazy lump. This was fine. Solosis as well as the rest of its evolutionary line were known for their powerful psychic abilities.

Name: Reyna Baker
Age: 17
Appearance: The worst mistake you could ever make about Miss Baker is that she would fit the modern expectation or stereotype of “ladylike”. While she is still perfectly capable of working her “feminine wiles” to entice a man (might it have to do with 34Ds?), it is not a side of her practiced often – or even occasionally. On top of that, she hardly even looks the part. Reyna is athletic, and it shows in her body.  Tone arms, abs, legs... not that she'd be the type to show you. While she isn't super tall, she stands at a decent height of 5'4”, which isn't too meager, and she weighs in at 140 lbs. While she  might be heavier than some girls her age, it isn't contributed to by any extra body fat; though what little there may be of it just adds a minimal amount of padding over her toned muscles. She has a sturdy frame, and some curves where it counts, but by no means should anybody see her feminine features and exclude the possibility of her punching you out. She's got a lot of strength and isn't one to hesitate if you begin to CENSORED with her.

If a man or woman made a mistake in misjudging her, it was likely due in large part to her face. Little nose, thin eyebrows, and very faint hard-to-tell-they're-there freckles, she has the typical cutesy feminine face that all late teenagers get. Her soft facial features are, fortunately for her, often tarnished by an eternal scowl. Which isn't to say she isn't capable of feeling the buzz of happiness or excitement, in some cases going absolutely giddy over some discovery she may have found, emboldening her green eyes and stretching her smile to form a tooth green that shows well taken care of teeth. Another off-color trait of hers is her red-orange hair (a natural redhead), which is fashioned into a faux hawk, and is well groomed. There is little oil in it and is basically a light bundle of fluffy hair, which she combs her fingers through when she is tired or stressed. Oh, and a great complexion. She is pretty well aware of her health and hygiene.

Most of her clothes look like they come from the boys' section. She wears a red unisex ringspun tank top, which goes down to her hips, where it meets her baggy camouflage pants (providing immense comfort and rustic charm), which is fastened by a black fabric belt to her hips. These pants seem rather faded from use, but is still strong and can withstand many more months of use. The ends of the pant legs are either lazily tucked in or lazily sleeved over (or often times just caught in, but always lazily) her black combat boots that crawl up over her ankles and up mid-shin. They are, of course, steel toed and she often times just kicks random structures (like brick buildings, big rocks, trees) just for the fun of it, and because she can. Naturally, not feeling the impact of such a kick is pretty neat. The shoe laces on her boots are always tied tight so that the boots are firm and comfy on her feet. Over her tank top is a black leather jacket. The bottom half of the torso appears to have been torn and goes down to just her waist, although the sleeves and rest of the jacket are fine. The apparent damage seems to be more for the style of it than some horrific scissor accident.

She has very little accessories. She does, however, have two piercings on her left outer brow (left brow, left side – further from the nose). On her right shoulder blade is a simple tattoo of a compass, which she got without her mother's knowledge (she still does not know to this day). It's somewhat special for her. It has part to do with her love of adventure and part to do with, despite its simplicity, loving the design. She has a typical black backpack. Good for hiking and carrying necessities and whatnot. It has quite a bit of preserved berries in it though; courtesy of the Hoenn region's abundant amount of exotic fruits.

Biography: She is a Hoenn city gal – born and raised in the tropic region, though specifically in Mauville where the tropics aren't so much tropic, but a bustling city just down the road from a not-so-bustling city that happens to be very fresh and cool, the latter which happens to be under the shade of the volcano half the day. But Mauville is a nice enough place, and has all the hustle and bustle to keep a girl like Reyna interested. It was also a result of this kind of life why she hasn't quite started traveling with Pokemon yet, caught up in the modern way of life for quite a while. She was always the type to find some way to get into trouble, even in circumstances where there shouldn't even be any possibility of screwing up so badly or any possibility of creating trouble (ask about the bounce house incident, she'll start giggling at the memory of it). But the mischief she created in her youth aside, she was always an adventurous spirit and loved to explore, and always found fascination in all the simple parts of life, such as caves, bones and teeth, natural architecture (another way of saying ant hives), and basically all the things no set of parents would expect their daughter to become interested in.

But when I say parents, I mean mother. Her “no good layabout father”, in her words, is usually never home and is often on business trips. Sometimes going even weeks without calling home, which very much upsets Reyna's mother – the parent who Reyna is much closer to, and the one whose side she immediately takes regardless of the argument. Her mother also never wanted to stop her from exploring herself and who she was, and never one to encourage her to fit the contemporary model of femininity. Though this may be the cause of her mother being a non-argumentative woman and is very compliant and docile. A very good reason to defend her mother against people like her father in arguments and whatnot. Reyna, always going around in the city, was very active and tough, and much more assertive than her mother. So she tried to help play the “man of the house” in her father's absence. Which was actually a bit of work, having to scare off all the door to door salesmen and annoying neighbors. And the kids that decided to egg houses and found her house learned very soon that her house was off limits.

Her school life was a little tough. Reyna had to worry about a lot of things, so homework wasn't her  main priority, but she isn't stupid though. The lack of commitment and long term projects had cut into her grade, and left her in the tier between all of the “smart students” and the students with all the Fs and just didn't care. She also wasn't like other girls, so that of course prompted some snide remarks once in a while. She found herself in detention very often, usually with a bruise on her knuckles. She got a habit of keeping a small bag with her, so that when she got in a fight with people and landed a good solid punch that popped a tooth out of their mouth, she'd snag it without them seeing and clean it shortly thereafter. Go ahead and rattle the pouch – it sounds like a maraca. She is quite proud of it.

When her father came home one day, he got a rather mixed reception. Reyna's mother was relieved, and clearly quite happy, but Reyna herself was a lot colder. Simply giving him a disapproving glance and returning to her room. Disconcerting to her father, of course, but he brought home a gift for her from his business trip to the Unova region. She was given the present the next morning once she had calmed down – it was a Pokemon! Specifically a Deino. She was actually gobsmacked the moment she saw it, and actually got excited and giddy and apologized to her father in that heat of the moment. Of course, she learned it couldn't see a little later, which was a little less impressive, but she loved it nonetheless and named him Xylem. She didn't hesitate to start training with Xylem, and while she did not know much about Pokemon battling, a lot of her own nature was found in her battling style that made it pretty hard to implement a strategy in the first place... she is relentless.

Then her father gave her the funds for supplies and a ticket to the Norue region. The perfect place to toughen the body and spirit of both humankind and Pokemon alike. Then he disappeared again, saying something about stock exchange in the Orre region. Whatever.

Okay, question, are we dealing with all generations (1-6) generations of pokemon? And are we allowed to use mega evolutions if we came across the required gear during the RP?

Also, who would decide who wins or looses in player battles? (I personally believe a Pokemon Showdown/ Pokebattle.com battle with the team that person has at the levels they're at would do well, personally).

I love the idea of the RP. Hell I already have an idea for what starter I'll choose. I just want a few questions answered. That's all.

I'm in if Op's in.

EDIT: What will our starters be? Can they be anything? If you'd like, I made a selection process for an rp a while ago that could work here.

Also, do you have a map of this region or anything?

All gens are OK.

I plan on distributing Mega accessories (they will depend on your character, though I plan on having Mega Watches) about the same time as X and Y did, which was about the third gym. Although, there'll have to be a way to keep people from just stumbling on every Mega Stone in the game.

Also, there will be more Mega Evolutions than just the ones in X and Y and Omega/Alpha.

You know, the Pokemon Showdown thing is a good idea. (Thankfully, I predict that most people are just going to slap max IV's on their Pokemon anyway.

@Maxx

Well, the starter guidelines are in the original post. I'll try to get up a region map ASAP, but for now, consult a map of real-life Norway for general reference.

Other: "POTION"

Species: Petilil
Nickname: Lillian
Moveset: Absorb, Leech Seed, Growth
Ability: Chlorophyll
Held Item:

Hey Eropstoad :3 nice to see a pokemon role play on here.

Question, if we want to take our characters a different route ie: pokemon breeder would that be allowed? Or are we sticking to only gym battles.

Isn't Laura the girl that was super obsessed with flying and airplanes? (and ironically would end up getting a bunch of grass types?)

I totally remembered in the middle of the school day. I think she wore a cast-iron jet pendant and tried to strap a propeller or something to her Petilil, right?

If we get a Mega Tyrantrum that's Steel/Dragon, I will love you forever Erops.

Aaaaaanyways, I'll probably go with Tyrunt as my starter poke because I like Tyrantrum. I also really like Tyranitar, so I might go with Larvitar.

Mega Marowak, anyone?

I'm working on dos characters for this. One's starter will be a duskull (and eventually will have the marowak that I want to mega-ize) and one's going to be a punk street kid.

CHARACTER SHEET

Trainers

Name: Damian Troi
Age: 16
Appearance: I'm bad at these, so just click This link.
Other information: He stands at about 5'9-5'10 depending on who you ask.

Pokémon

Species: Tyrunt
Nickname: Caesar
Moveset: Dragon Dance, Thunder Fang, Poison Fang, Fire Fang
Ability: Strong Jaw
Held Item: Eviolite if that's okay. If not then I'll say none for now.

CHARACTER SHEET

Trainers

Name: Donna Troi
Age: 16
Appearance: Bad at this. Just click me!
She's a taller girl, about 5'8.

Pokémon

Species: Pawniard
Nickname: Lance
Moveset: Revenge, Sucker Punch, Pursuit, Scratch
Ability: Defiant
Held Item: Eviolite if it's okay.

So is it okay if my team was bred? If not it's okay. I'll fix it.
I also really like the Tyrantrum you drew (but it was driving me crazy with the nines and ones as a perfectionist) I hate to ask, since you already like the idea of Steel/Dragon Tyrantrum, but could we make it's stats 82/150/130/50/110/99 (ending up at 621 exactly)?

Accepted. And okay, sure, if you'd like.

Love your taste in starters, by the way.

Thank you very much! I like that you're so flexible and willing to work with me and my idiocy. I wanted the starters to match the trainers. Maxx and I are in cahoots on rivalries and stuff. I'm a huge competitive battler. Maxx is too. We're talking strategy and stuff on our end.

...I'm also sitting on my end yelling Maxx over skype about why Tyrantrum cant have base 522 so that way every stat can be even.

I need help.
